Last Batch of College Outfielders with Plus Tools

Trying to empty my notebook out of any quick and easy bits of interesting information. These players all ranked outside of my personal top 100 college outfielder list, yet each still does something, or in a few cases somethings plural, that make them stand out in some way. I don’t think there is anybody too controversial on the list — maybe you can make the argument that a player listed here could make the back end of a top 100, but I don’t think there are any top ten round guys in the bunch — but if you think a player has been slighted, feel free to speak up in the comments or via email.
  • Tulane SR OF Nick Boullosa – plus speed, plus range

    CARL THOMORE!!!

    • Rob Ozga says:

Wow, now that’s a name I didn’t expect to hear anybody talking about just yet. Well done, sir. This particular list was just about college outfielders, but Thomore is a really, really good high school outfield prospect. Thomore plays right in my backyard, so I’m hoping to see him a few times this spring. Conservatively I think he’s a top-five round guy and a definite personal favorite.

Have any more info on Thomore you can share? I’ve heard nothing but good things so far, and would love to spotlight him when I do the high school outfielder rankings in a few weeks. Let me know…

  3. RIC HALL says:

HEY GUY………NAVARRO HALL WAS ON YOUR MOCK DRAFT LIST 2010. HE IS NOT MENTIONED IN 2011 IS IT BECAUSE HE WISELY TRANSFERRED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. THIS KID WAS A TOP PROSPECT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL DRAFTED BY PHILLIES 2007 BUT WAS NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY AT UK.HE IS NOW PLAYING AT COLUMBUS STATE UNIVERSITY HAVING A PRETTY GOOD SEASON.CONSIDERING HE IS PLAYING INJURED(FRACTURED BIG TOE) THIS KID’S SPEED,DEFENSIVE SKILLS AND OFFENSIVE GAME COULD BE A PLUS FOR ANY MAJOR LEAGUE ORGANIZATION.DO NOT LET THIS NAME SLIP OFF THE TABLE……….

    • Rob Ozga says:

Interesting name, thanks. I liked Hall a lot last year, as you mentioned, but his 2011 numbers have me a little worried. I know you mentioned the toe injury, but I’m still nervous. Still definitely a name to store away. I would imagine if scouts liked him out of high school and early on during his time at Kentucky, they’ll still like him and push for him to get drafted late.

John McCambridge, (Xavier) plus speed, plus arm, plus glove, plus batting, nice power, Atlantic 10 ‘s #1 MLB prospect. John will make it to the bigs….4.5 tools, going to 5 tool player. top notch speed, changes games, ala , Ricky Henderson. goes opposite field like Joe Mauer, plays centerfield like Willie Mays, great attitude and work ethic, “0” off field worries. leader and team player.
