The Baseball Draft Report 
There is a fine young man from Waterford CT. Colin O`Keefe who I can`t believe is not on this list. He is going to Virginia Tech this fall and throws 88-91 with special stuff and he is a lefty. He has been a dominant pitcher in the ECC conference which is arguably the strongest in CT. The ECC will most likely turn out 2 first round picks this year, Matt Harvey (North Carolina) Jesse Hahn (Virginia Tech) and other young men are sure to get drafted in later rounds Matt Browning and Anthony Giansanti are just a couple. This kid is the real deal and should be a player to watch.
Steve, this is great stuff. The amateur baseball universe is so vast that it’s darn near impossible to get all the quality players out there the exposure they deserve, but it’s comments like these that help bring some of the relatively unheralded prospects to light. I went to school up in Boston, so I have some pretty strong New England baseball connections…I’ll have to ask around to see what they have to say about O’Keefe. Judging by your description, however, it sounds like we’ve got a genuine sleeper on our hands. The lefthanded prep pitching class is really weak this year, I think, so it’ll be interesting to see where a guy like O’Keefe winds up getting popped. Reading up on him some makes me believe he’ll be tough to sign away from Virginia Tech…would that be a fair statement to make or am I off base? Either way, this comment is enough to get me on board the O’Keefe bandwagon. I love having additional semi-personal story lines to follow during the draft, and this is a good one. Thanks!

I’m a terrible editor of my own work, but I made sure to check, double-check, and triple-check this particular list for any little errors. On the third check, a-ha!, I realized I had left off Carey’s position. The pride I felt to actually spot a mistake and fix it before publishing was indescribable. Sadly, my fingers hate me and decided to type in 2B when my brain, despite being foggy because of my all night last minute draft preparation bender, knew darn well it was OF. Stupid good for nothing fingers…
